Media Relation is the core of Public Relations activities. Liasoning with media and coverage is an art. Broadly, media is segmented into national, regional, local and international publications both for print & electronic media. But this segmetation differs with clients, media can be further categorised into niche publications and channels; financial & economic dailies; industry specific; health & lifestyle; gender; age and more. There is an endless classification and a good PR Person makes a judicious and an intelligent choice when media list is being prepared for a Press Conference. And all this planning is made with one thing in mind, i.e. not to offend the journalist,as they get offended very easily, so it is important to consider whims and fancies of media group while ensuring good coverage both in the print and electronic media.
It is a tricky area which requires delicate handling for maximising the potential of a Press Conference.
